Cloud-or-on-premises, web-based RIM application built on Ennov's unified compliance platform that centralises product, registration, submission, correspondence and commitment data for Regulatory Affairs teams, natively linked to the same vendor's EDMS, eCTD publisher (Ennov Dossier), QMS, eTMF, and PV modules.
Ennov RIM is one of four products in the Ennov Regulatory Suite — alongside Ennov Regulatory Documents (EDMS), Ennov Dossier (eCTD publisher) and Ennov IDMP — and it shares the same underlying configuration tools, workflow engine, data model and user interface as Ennov QMS, Ennov eTMF, Ennov CTMS and Ennov Pharmacovigilance. The vendor markets the design as a unified platform: product, substance, registration and activity records live in the same metadata repository as the regulatory documents and dossiers they support.
Ennov is a Paris-headquartered, founder-led life-sciences software vendor created in 1999. Public statements describe a customer base of 450+ life-sciences companies and 500,000+ users worldwide. The product line expanded materially in the last 36 months: through the May 2023 acquisition of UK-based Samarind (medical-device RIM and regulatory intelligence) and the June 2024 acquisition of Calyx Enterprise Technology (formerly Liquent InSight publishing + RIM). Two parallel code lines are marketed as a result: "Ennov RIM" and the "Ennov InSight RIM" line inherited from Calyx.
Ennov RIM is sold exclusively as a life-sciences solution within the Ennov Regulatory Suite; core data models are pre-configured for pharmaceuticals, biologics, veterinary/animal health, medical devices, drug-device combinations, and nutritionals.
Single-tenant SaaS (cloud-based) or on-premises, with the vendor's explicit statement: "You can switch between deployment options at any time. Single-tenancy minimizes business interruptions." Multi-tenant SaaS is not the standard architecture. Specific cloud provider and region map are not publicly disclosed. 100% web-based UI; no native mobile apps for Ennov RIM. SSO is supported via Keycloak-based federation. SAML 2.0, OIDC, Azure AD and Okta connectors are not enumerated. REST API is the documented integration surface (used by partners such as Maincare). Data standards supported: eCTD (US, EU, GCC, Canada, Swissmedic, TGA), NeeS, vNeeS, eCopy, CTD, eCTD 4.0 (EMA pilot completed May 2025), xEVMPD, ISO IDMP via Ennov IDMP, DIA EDM Reference Model. Apache SOLR search engine. Vendor-reported scale: 450+ life-sciences customers, 500,000+ users. Septodont, a customer, issued 400 dossiers in 18 months across 150 countries.
Subscription (SaaS) or perpetual (on-premises) license, both available; Ennov does not publish list prices. Capterra and Software Advice both state "Pricing is available on request" and "Not provided by vendor." No starting price published; no public per-user, per-tenant or per-module rate card. Demos available on request; an IDMP EASI calculator is published free. Reported deal sizes by segment are not publicly disclosed; one industry profile cites 30% YoY growth in 2022. Minimum commitments and setup fees not publicly disclosed.
Ennov does not publish a project-duration table for Ennov RIM specifically. A vendor-cited animal-health PV migration to Ennov cloud was completed in under 6 months (different module). Customer profiles span small biotech (Pharma IT preconfigured bundle for small/mid pharma — months not quarters), mid-cap pharma (Septodont, Aguettant, Foghorn — multi-quarter rollout with phased country/product onboarding), and top-20 pharma (Boehringer Ingelheim — multi-year programme spanning Animal Health and Human Health). Hosting, implementation, training and support are the four published service pillars; all implementation and validation effort is priced as professional services. Migration paths: Samarind RMS → Ennov (defined ETL process documented at 2024 US User Group); Calyx Liquent InSight → Ennov (one customer migrated all regulatory solutions including a Veeva-managed document repository in Q2 2025); Ennov InSight Publishing states it "integrates seamlessly with existing document management systems like Veeva and Documentum."
PharmaSpotter assessment from published vendor and third-party sources. No user reviews are on file for this product.
Users report the single-platform model as a practical benefit: documents, RIM records, publishing artifacts and QA processes share the same configuration toolkit, the same admin skill set, and the same audit trail. Verified reviewer Emilie writes: "It is very appreciable to have only one tool, for RIM, document management, publishing tool, QA processes, etc... We have everything in one environment, which also makes it easier to take ownership of the settings when you're an administrator." Customers report being autonomous for routine configuration changes without IT support. Septodont reported issuing 400 dossiers in 18 months.
Users report the RIM administration UX needs work for bulk operations; Emilie flagged "the RIM setting should be improved with generalization of batch actions (charts, for example)." Public review volume is thin — G2 has 3 cross-product reviews and Capterra has effectively none for the Regulatory Suite — meaning a buyer cannot triangulate user sentiment with statistical confidence. The product brief is light on explicit regulatory citations beyond 21 CFR Part 11 and ISO certifications; a Validation Lead reading public material alone cannot answer Annex 11, GAMP 5 category, SOC 2 Type II or ALCOA+ questions.
