Company Overview

Akso is a Chongqing software vendor founded in May 2020 that sells one product: an integrated pharmaceutical quality-management suite, Akso eGxP (branded eGMP through 2025), spanning QMS, document management, training, archives, quality review, electronic records and a module for marketing authorisation holders overseeing contract manufacturers. It is pharma-only. There is no adjacent product line and no non-life-sciences customer named anywhere on its site.

The founding pairing is the company's most distinctive asset and is well matched to the category: chairperson Yu Yongmei spent thirty years in pharmaceutical quality, including senior roles at GSK and at the Chongqing CDMO Porton Pharma Solutions, before co-founding Akso; general manager Ran Jun holds dual Peking University degrees in computer science and economics and around twenty years in software. The company is unfunded, with registered capital of ¥11.0m and an employer-declared headcount of 20-99, and it publishes an ungated regulatory compliance white paper carrying a clause-by-clause 21 CFR Part 11 mapping and named IQ/OQ deliverables — documentation most vendors in this dataset do not publish at all.

Hosting is Alibaba Cloud. The certified deployment stack is Hygon CPUs on Kylin OS with a Kingbase database. No deployment, office, reseller or partner outside mainland China is evidenced. Its growth thesis is domestic and explicit: SASAC Document No. 79 requires central state-owned enterprises to complete domestic IT substitution by end-2027, and a 2026 CEPREI compatibility certificate places Akso in the path that displaces foreign incumbents. For a US or EU buyer, residency and hosting are the first things to resolve and no public page resolves them; whether a deployment outside China exists at all is an open question to the vendor rather than a settled no. The buyers it demonstrably serves today are a Chinese marketing authorisation holder, a China subsidiary of a multinational, or a buyer assessing a Chinese CDMO's quality systems.

Pharmaceutical Focus

Pharma-only. There is no non-pharma product line, no non-life-sciences customer and no adjacent vertical anywhere on the site, and the chairperson is a pharmaceutical quality executive rather than a software founder who added a pharma edition.

The customer count is inconsistent across the company's own properties, and the direction is consistent with growth rather than invention: 150+ clients and 70,000+ users on the English homepage metrics band, around 170 in 2025 content, nearly 200 on the Chinese About page, and 200+ in a mid-2026 news item. The English homepage is the stale one. Named customers include Qilu Pharmaceutical, Hengrui Medicine, CSPC, Kelun, Tasly Saint, Xinhua Pharmaceutical, Livzon Group, Shanghai RAAS Blood Products, Sinopharm Taiji, Yunnan Baiyao, Humanwell Healthcare, Lepu Biopharma, Boan Biotech and Jimin Kexin, plus two multinational China subsidiaries — Eisai China and Sekisui Medical Technology (China). The Eisai China entry is a signed testimonial from a named QA head describing a competitive vendor selection, which is the strongest customer evidence on the site.

The regulatory track record a Western buyer would care about is claimed and unverified. The cases page states that Xinhua Pharmaceutical passed FDA and MHRA audits with the system in place, and that Tasly Saint passed China GMP, UK MHRA and Australia TGA audits alongside an 86% improvement in quality-event handling. Both companies do export to regulated markets, so the claims are plausible. They rest entirely on vendor assertion and are the first thing to verify.

Financial Overview

No revenue, growth or profitability figure is published, and none was found. The company is unfunded — no venture, growth or strategic round appears in any source — with registered capital of ¥11,001,000. That places it in the same structural position as LabKey in this dataset: revenue-funded, no investor exit clock, and no capital reserve if a funded competitor targets the same segment.

The customer count rises across every dated snapshot the company publishes, from 150+ on its English homepage to 200+ in a mid-2026 news item. And named repurchases are published rather than asserted: Boan Biotech expanded from QMS to QDT in April 2026, and Sinopharm Taiji extended a 2024 project at its Southwest Pharmaceutical subsidiary to a group-wide agreement. Neither is audited.

Akso eGxP
QMS

Seven-module pharmaceutical quality suite from Akso, a Chongqing software vendor founded in 2020, built on a zero-code configuration layer the vendor classifies as GAMP 5 Category 4. Its regulatory compliance white paper is published without a form and carries a clause-by-clause 21 CFR Part 11 mapping. All documented deployments are in mainland China.

FDA Part 11
Products & Solutions

One platform, Akso eGxP (branded eGMP through 2025; both marks still appear across the site), sold as an integrated closed loop rather than as separately marketed products. Seven modules: QMS covering deviation, change control, CAPA, OOS/OOT investigation, audit, supplier management, product release, complaint and recall; DMS for full document lifecycle; TMS for role-based training and competency; AMS for controlled-record archives; QRS for annual product quality review; ERS for configurable electronic records replacing paper GMP forms; and a contract-manufacturing module for marketing authorisation holders overseeing CMOs and CDMOs.

Underneath sits Akso Gaia, a zero-code configuration layer the company markets as "ISPE GAMP5-Compliant Category 4" in English and "0代码纯四类可配置" in Chinese. A vendor stating its own GAMP category is unusual and directly useful to a validation lead, since Category 4 carries a materially lighter burden than Category 5 custom code; no categorisation rationale is published behind the claim.

The MAH module anchors to China's Drug Administration Law alongside 21 CFR 211.180(e) and EU GMP Annex 11. Its buyer is a Chinese marketing authorisation holder supervising its contract manufacturers — not a Western sponsor supervising a Chinese CDMO, which nothing on the page addresses.

Partnerships & Technology

Two partnerships are evidenced, both domestic. Shilin (识林), a Chinese pharmaceutical regulatory-knowledge platform, provides a joint learning space inside eGxP giving users access to regulatory intelligence and guideline databases — a sensible pairing that puts current regulatory content next to the workflow it governs. And a 2026 CEPREI product compatibility certificate (CEPREI-XF-20260074) from the MIIT-affiliated China Saibao laboratory certifies full-stack domestic operation on Hygon CPUs, Kylin OS and a Kingbase database, which is the technology-partner relationship that matters commercially: it qualifies Akso for the state-owned-enterprise substitution programme running to the end of 2027.

No international technology partner, cloud partner other than Alibaba Cloud, systems integrator, implementation partner or reseller was found. No ISPE, PDA or PQG corporate affiliation is claimed, though the company presents at ISPE China events and its chairperson has repeatedly been invited to teach at Chongqing Municipal Drug Administration training programmes.

Support & Services

Two named service lines, CSM (customer success) and training, both offered through the site rather than described in any detail. Support hours, response targets, language coverage and geographic coverage are all unpublished; the only contact channels given are a Chongqing landline, a mobile number, an email address and a WeChat official account, which is a China-resident support model.

The company claims a 100% project go-live rate and high repurchase, both self-reported and unaudited. Implementation is delivered in-house and no partner network exists. Against 200+ customers and seven modules on a 20-99 headcount, delivery-team seniority on a validated GMP project is the specific thing to probe.

The company publishes an ungated regulatory compliance white paper carrying a clause-by-clause 21 CFR Part 11 mapping, named IQ/OQ deliverables, audit-trail design and a named backup procedure. Publishing that without a form is a quality-culture signal a services page cannot give.

Training
Credibility & Recognition

Two international standards and a run of Chinese designations. The standards are ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001, both held since February 2022 — these are the credentials that travel, and they are the same certifications a Western vendor would hold. The designations are domestic: National High-Tech Enterprise (October 2023); the Chongqing key industrial software product roster three times (May 2021, April 2022, November 2023); "specialised, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative" enterprise status (June 2025); Class A tax credit; and the 2026 CEPREI domestic-stack compatibility certificate. Nearly 100 patents, software copyrights and trademarks are claimed on the Chinese About page, around 80 on the English one. There is no SOC 2 and none is claimed; ISO/IEC 27001 is the security attestation on offer.

Chairperson Yu Yongmei brings thirty years in pharmaceutical quality including GSK and the Chongqing CDMO Porton Pharma Solutions, and was named in 2025 to a National Excellence Engineer practice base; general manager Ran Jun holds dual Peking University degrees and around twenty years in software. A quality executive from the customer side paired with a career software operator is an uncommon and well-matched founding combination for this category.

One claim does not stand up as stated. The company's English About page says it ranks "among the top three in compliance-related quality management systems" per the CIAPH 2024-2025 pharmaceutical and healthcare digitalisation research report, and its outreach email upgraded that to "top three in China's pharmaceutical QMS market share". The underlying report is a survey of 191 pharmaceutical enterprises covering IT budgets, digitalisation goals and system selection — not a market-share study — and the claim appears on the English About page but not the Chinese one. The report itself was not obtained. Recorded as unverified.

Market Presence

Content output is heavy and almost entirely self-published. The company runs an active news index, a WeChat official account, a CSDN blog, Zhihu long-forms and placed Sohu articles, publishing signings, customer go-lives, regulatory explainers and event coverage at a steady cadence. Its chairperson is a repeat invited speaker at Chongqing Municipal Drug Administration training programmes and at ISPE China events.

The consequence for anyone researching this vendor is that almost everything resembling third-party coverage is the vendor. The CSDN account carrying its case studies is Akso_eGMP; the Sohu article surveying GMP/GxP quality-system providers is bylined AksoeGMP and discloses AI-generated content; the Zhihu long-forms are the company's own. None of it is independent. What is genuinely independent is narrow: Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical published an Akso go-live on its own corporate site, and Chongqing municipal and Liangjiang New Area government media covered the company in late 2023.

There is no third-party review presence of any kind — no G2, Capterra or Gartner Peer Insights listing, and no analyst coverage. Normal for a five-year-old vendor selling in one country, and it means no independent user signal exists on this product.
